Raleigh Neighborhood College
Program offered by the City in partnership with Wake County. Registration has begun for Spring 2007. Classes start on March 1 and it will last 13 weeks. Participants receive info on services provided by the City as well as County services. Students will interact with City staff, County staff and other Raleigh residents to learn things about municipal government and how to use that knowledge to improve your neighborhood. Classes are Thursday from 6-9pm with a light dinner served each session. Only 25 students accepted per session. For details, contact 831-6100 or kevin.smith@ci.raleigh.nc.us.

Neighborhood Improvement Matching Grants 2006
Awards grants up to $5,000 to neighborhood-serving or neighborhood-based organizations and individuals to initiate projects designed to benefit your neighborhood. Projects can be physical or social in nature, but must emphasize neighborhood input and involvement and be able to demonstrate how the project will benefit the neighborhood.
